Life Plan - Day 3: Have a Map (Make a Plan)

Step #3: Have a Map (Make a Plan)
Once you have knowledge of
1, Where you are now and
2. Where you want to get to
then it is time to create a game plan of how precisely you will get there.
As you know from the second exercise, we need to carry out a SWOT analysis that will help us anticipate all the setbacks that may come our way and figure out how best to counter the same. We can best do that by determining what resources we have available for accomplishing our goals.
Our goals then get divided into, short, medium and long term. Short term can be defined as goals within six months or less, medium term can be defined as between six months and three years and long term is anything beyond.
In setting goals we must start with the end in mind for each of the eight areas of our lives and then work our way backward to date. With this done each goal can thus be broken down into monthly, weekly or even daily tasks that can be easily tackled. The easier the better.
Remember that your mind needs to see some victories in order to give positive feedback which in turn will cause better output.
With the above exercise in place, you are ready to move to the next stage.

At this stage we are talking about a technical plan complete with activity details outlining the HOWS clearly.
2. Determine the resources available to you for the achievement of your goals. Here we will need to seriously look at time, skill, effort, money, people and information. These each must be factored in.
3. Take action - baby steps to get this done. We will examine the action in more detail in the next segment.
With the above exercise in place, you are ready to move to the next stage.
